Database Development

We put professional database development experience to work.

Database development is the nuts and bolts of getting the work done for you. This is where professional experience and technical expertise count. It is the difference between expensive and time-consuming revisions and smooth sailing on your project.

When do I need to hire someone for database development?

If data processing is a vital part of the day to day operations of your organization, you have little or no experience with database development and you do not have the time to learn how to develop databases yourself, then you will want to hire someone with the professional experience and the technical expertise to develop your database for you.

If there is a question as to whether the database architecture (the tables and their fields, as well as the table occurrences, table groups, and their relationships on the relationship graph) on your new or existing database is not aligned with the way you work, then it is a good opportunity to hire someone to do this development. How do you know? If you have multiple fields for the same type of information (Category 1, Category 2, Category 3; Item1, Item2, Item3; XEvent, YEvent, ZEvent; etc) or if you struggle with the relationship diagram, then it’s a good idea to either become more proficient in your database development skills, or hire someone with the professional database development experience and the technical expertise to do the work for you.

If you suspect that users of your database (including yourself) are spending more time than is reasonable to navigate it, to find information and to produce results and you would like to improve or correct this, then hiring someone with the professional experience and the technical expertise to develop it for you would be a wise decision.

After researching your work, I was thrilled that you could develop a database solution for my department. Although I had built databases with another application in the past, I was hesitant to take on a project of this magnitude. The time needed to master FileMaker in addition to my other responsibilities simply made doing this work myself impractical.
