Timesheets Needed from Both Staff and Freelancers

Collecting timesheets from staff was an inconsistent and laborious process. And now the management team of a publishing firm’s editorial department needed to keep track of time for both staff and freelance contractors. It was important for them to know how much time was being spent on certain tasks, which articles (DOI) and how much of their effort was logged as overtime.


Given that freelance contractors were outside of the organization, the timesheets solution would need to be securely accessible on the web. A FileMaker Pro database was created that allowed internal staff, as well as external freelance contractors to easily and consistently enter their time, and for management to oversee their activities.
